My Farewell to Taiwan

This post has been long in coming, and now that we are starting to get more settled and enjoy our new home in Japan, it makes me reflect about all I loved and miss about our first out of country home: Taiwan.

To start: Things I will miss about my Taiwan apartment:
The awesome shower tub combo-
I could take a shower while simultaneously giving the girls a bath. Priceless.

My open kitchen was sooo nice.

Things I will not miss about my Taiwan apartment home:
My itty bitty oven and the annoying cover on my microwave
that was always in the way of the cupboard above.

But it is, of course, the people and the memories I made that really will make me miss my home in Taiwan.  Here are pics of some of my last moments in Taiwan:

Last class in ballet for Elli with friend Nile

My last day with my  preschool kids (Caleb, Liam, Evelyn, and Elli)- such cuties!!!
Don't forget our class crasher- Sienna!

Last Trip to Taroko Gorge- my favorite place in Taiwan.

Here is the last night on the town for Todd and I with an awesome restaurant up in the mountains.  We were surrounded by nature sitting on the ground and had a flower in our soup! So great.

Now on to memories: remembering the fabulous parks, and wonderful long bike trails (which I am now realizing I took for granted!) , once in a life-time experiences, really cool places to see, and the best playgroup play dates I could ever want!

Our fabulous helper/family Nerissa will surely be missed! We all love her and miss her a ton! We are still keeping in touch via email and pictures.

And so many friends that we love and hope to continue to have in our lives:

Such love and fond memories we have with all of y'all---- you are what made Taiwan so fabulous for us!!  Fun parties+ sweet church kids + play dates + cooking adventures + dancing + messy masterpieces + great food + preschool + bubbles+ super game buddies + fun loving people = amazingly great time in Taiwan.

And here are my very last hurrahs with my wonderful girlfriends!  Some fabulous farewell lunches, Gourmet pizza dinner, last flings at the night market, and to end of course... Kareoke, Taiwan style! (many pictures courtesy of Ciarra's extended arm phone camera!!)

Seriously, I am very grateful for the fabulous memories I have had in Taiwan and for all the friends I have made and grown to love.  Many will keep traveling all over the world, some have already started those travels, and some might always stay close to our Taiwan home, but all will stay close to our hearts.  Soooo cheesy but so true.

And now you can all excitedly anticipate our next 2 years of posts on how we are enjoying our new home: the home of the first Godzilla!!

                                                                            ROAR!!!!

I guessing Nerissa is a filipina by the looks. I served my mission in the Philippines so I love the Asian people especially the filipinos.
