Heather's 5k
Since the start of school, Heather has been participating in her elementary school's cross country group. They've been practicing twice a week for the past two months. All the practice was leading up to this past weekend's 5k run. She and about 12 or so elementary students, her principal, and a few other teachers all made the run. Although I didn't run, I still got a decent workout trying to stay warm in the frigid morning air cheering them on.
That's awesome you ran a 5K, Heather! How was your asthma during the run? Dave & I actually did a 5K this weekend! He kept me going and we ran it in 30 minutes, 10 seconds! (I was actually only 13 seconds behind the 3rd place medal for my age group of women 20-25, so that sucked), but it was fun! That's cool you were able to run it with your kids, too! Miss you!
How did I miss this entry? Totally awesome, Heather! That is so neat for you and the kids. It makes me really miss living in a place with regular runs to get involved in. I wonder if Lubbock has runs that often or maybe once we move back, we could do regular trips to Dallas and hang out with Laura or maybe I'll train for a marathon and run a cool DC marathon and see you!!

I'm so glad you were able to run your 5K, even after a night of partying and wii playing! We need to do it again!

Way to go, Heather!
That is so great. GO HEATHER!! Great that the kids wanted to do it too. We need to plan another run together soon.
